This year is an important one for our students while they continue to study subjects in more depth and difficulty. During the spring term students, consulting with their teachers and parents, will choose the subjects they will study at GCSE and BTEC in Year 10. By taking ownership of their future learning, they will be making choices which may well affect their careers in the years ahead. In their core subjects, already much of the work is directly preparing students for their GCSE examinations in Year 11.
Taking advantage of the after-school enrichment programme can also offer students an opportunity to develop skills and abilities outside the classroom environment.
As the oldest members of Key Stage 3, their leadership skills will certainly be encouraged by setting a good example to our younger students.
KS4 Option Choices
Here you will find resources to support students in making their option choices for Key Stage 4. Making option choices is an important time for all Year 9 students and we want to provide all students with the information they need to make informed choices.
An ‘Options Booklet’ has been designed to explain the curriculum our students will follow over the next two years in Key Stage 4. The booklet describes the content, assessment and opportunities that underpins each of the ‘optional’ subjects.
