Year 11 is the culmination of every student’s time at St Mary’s Catholic High School and an opportunity to demonstrate all they have learnt throughout their courses. Due to the challenging linear exam structure, with no coursework, the importance of homework becomes even more vital. Every lesson counts and therefore attendance at school is an essential priority for all students. In effect, there are just two whole terms in which to ensure that students are fully prepared for the summer term examination season. Past students always comment on how quickly time flies in Year 11, so there is no time to waste.
As St Mary’s Catholic High School is an 11 - 16 school, all students in Year 11 will be making plans for what they will do once they leave following their examinations. For most students this will be a busy time visiting local colleges and sixth-forms, making applications and, of course, revising hard to ensure that they get the required grades for their future courses.
In Year 11 students are very much the key ambassadors for our school. Not only the members of the school’s Student Leadership Team, but all Year 11s are looked up to by the younger members of the school community.
