St Mary's Catholic High School

Parents' Evenings

At St Mary’s Catholic High School we regard parents and carers as partners in the education of our students.

While most schools hold one evening each year, at St Mary's we hold two Parents' Consultation Evenings for most year groups. Attendance at these Parents' Consultation Evening' is important as it provides time to speak with your child's teachers and find out how they are getting on at school.  It is an opportunity to ask any questions that you may have and also for the teachers to explain how you can support your child with their learning at home.

The evenings are generally held from 3.30pm - 6.00pm. Meetings with individual subject teachers usually last five minutes each. However, should there be a need for a longer discussion it is advisable to make a separate appointment at an other convenient time.

In Year 9 there is an additional evening to deal with the Options process. This usually takes place in the summer term.

Pupils will be issued with an appointment sheet prior to the evening in order to make parent appointments with their teachers.

Please Note:

During the period of the COVID-19 pandemic restrictions Parents' Evenings will be carried out by telephone or remote communication. Parents will be informed of individual appointments.
