Year 10 pupils receive CPR training

On Monday, 23rd June, fourteen Year 10 pupils participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme undertook additional first aid training, delivered by dedicated volunteers from the Red Cross. This session placed particular emphasis on cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).

First aid training is a core requirement of the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. Not only is it a valuable life skill, but it is also essential for the safe completion of the expedition component of the Award.

CPR training is especially vital, as it prepares individuals to respond effectively in medical emergencies, particularly cardiac arrests. Immediate CPR can dramatically improve a person’s chances of survival by maintaining blood flow and oxygen supply to vital organs until professional medical assistance is available.

Well done to the Red Cross volunteers who provide this essential training to our pupils. Their support helps equip our young people with the confidence and skills to potentially save lives.

Well done to the following pupils who undertook the training.
