World Book Day 2023

Thursday, 2^nd March, saw students and staff at our school dressed as characters from their favourite books, poems or plays, joining students across the world to celebrate World Book Day 2023. The theme of this year’s World Book Day was Changing lives though a love of books and reading.

The previous week, students had special assemblies led by Miss Garrett, Head of English, in preparation for the big day.

This year, throughout the day, at the start of each lesson, students listened to an extract from a short story. By the end of the day they had read the entire story. This was then used, in the following week, as the basis for a competition, with a quiz and a short story writing competition open to all students.
