Student Leadership Elections 2026–2027

With a real sense of excitement across the school community, Thursday, 26th March was the day of our annual elections for the 2026–2027 Student Leadership Team. Year 10 pupils are invited to stand for the roles of Head Girl, Head Boy, their Deputies, Student Governors, and House Captains—all chosen through a whole‑school ballot involving both pupils and staff.

The newly elected Student Leaders will take up their posts on the first day of the Trinity Term, following the Easter break. This transition allows our outgoing Year 11 team, led by Nana and Kachi, to focus on their upcoming GCSE and BTEC examinations. We are incredibly grateful for their hard work, dedication, and the positive impact they have made over the past year, and we wish them every success in the months ahead.

Student Leadership Elections - March 2026

The morning began with all 20 candidates delivering short election speeches to the entire school via Microsoft Teams. Each pupil outlined their vision for the year ahead, shared their personal strengths, and explained how they hope to contribute to school life. This leadership year is especially significant, as it coincides with our 175th Anniversary, celebrating the founding of the school in September 1851.

Following the inspiring speeches, pupils and staff cast their votes in a secret ballot, mirroring the procedures used in UK local and national elections. Our outgoing student leaders oversaw the process, acting as election officials throughout break, lunch, and after school, ensuring a smooth and fair voting experience for all.

The results of the election will be announced by Mr Shields during the end‑of‑term assembly on Friday 27th March.

We wish every candidate the very best of luck and offer our sincere thanks to them for their courage, enthusiasm, and willingness to contribute to our school community.
