St Mary's sends £1,310 to CAFOD
We are delighted to report that our school has sent an amazing £1,310 to CAFOD, including money raised by students for The Big Lent Walk 2023.
Our school has, like most Catholic Schools, a proud tradition of supporting CAFOD in its life-saving work of ending global poverty. This year CAFOD also had an important role in dealing with the aftermath of the devastating earthquake in Syria/Turkey.
In March, the whole school took part in The Big Lent Walk 2023, walking laps of the upper playground in solidarity with the victims of global poverty, especially those communities most affected by climate change. Students raised money through cake sales, darts competitions, guess the number of sweets in a jar, and many other fundraising activities. Included in the total money raised was parental donations to CAFOD through our school's ParentPay account. We thank them all for their generosity.
