Silver DofE Students Shine on Expedition
Congratulations to our students who recently completed their Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award expedition on Thursday, 2nd to Friday 3rd July 2026. Throughout the challenge, they showed resilience, teamwork and determination, supporting one another and rising to every stage of the journey.
We were especially proud to receive outstanding feedback from one of the expedition instructors, who praised the students’ behaviour and character. They wrote: “Over three days, I never heard bad language or an unkind word. I witnessed students helping each other out.”
The instructor was particularly impressed by the students’ willingness to help without being asked, including tidying communal areas, supporting teammates and taking responsibility around camp. They also highlighted the pride our students take in upholding St Mary’s high standards, noting: “They take an evident pride in their behaviour as a community.”
We are incredibly proud of all our Silver Duke of Edinburgh’s Award participants, who were excellent ambassadors for St Mary’s throughout the expedition. Well done to everyone involved on this fantastic achievement and on receiving such wonderful feedback.
