Michaelmas Term Concludes with Christmas Liturgy

Friday, 19th December 2025
The closing day of the Michaelmas term was commemorated by the entire school community gathering in the Sports Hall for a traditional Christmas Liturgy. This event served as a meaningful reminder of the Christmas story and the arrival of our Saviour, Lord Jesus Christ.
The Advent Wreath, placed at the centre of the service, was a powerful symbol throughout the liturgy. Pupils and staff participated in readings and sang carols with great enthusiasm, creating a festive atmosphere. This memorable service provided a fitting conclusion to the term and helped everyone prepare spiritually for Christmas Day.
The Christmas Liturgy was also an opportunity to display the collection of food items that each House had collected for our Advent Charity - The Manna Society. an important reminder that supporting charitable causes, and understanding that this commitment lies at the heart of our mission and purpose as a Catholic community.
Archbishop’s Christmas Message
As the liturgy drew to a close, pupils watched a special video message for Advent from Archbishop John Wilson. In his address, the Archbishop reflected on the profound message of Christmas, stating: ‘The beautiful truth of Christmas is that because of God in Christ we are never lost.’ .

Mr Shields was pleased to share the welcome news that earlier that morning His Holiness Pope Leo XIV appointed Canon Gerard Bradley as Auxiliary Bishop of the Archdiocese of Southwark. Canon Gerard is no stranger to our school, in late 2024, he visited our school to lead a special liturgy, rededicating it to the Blessed Virgin Mary.
