Michaelmas Term 2025 - Awards and Celebrations

Following the Christmas Liturgy, the highly anticipated end-of-term awards ceremony was held. Mr Shields led the proceedings, taking the opportunity to reflect on the considerable achievements of the school community during the past term. He highlighted the diverse range of activities pupils had participated in, particularly through the newly launched Curriculum Enrichment Days. Mr Shields also emphasised the significance of good attendance, reminding everyone that each pupil is expected to maintain at least 95% attendance.

As in previous years, pupils who achieved 100% attendance and maintained a record free of behaviour demerit points were entered into a draw for Nando's vouchers. During the assembly, three fortunate winners were selected at random to receive these vouchers.

Year 11 Academic Achievement Awards

This term saw the introduction of new awards recognising exceptional academic achievement among Year 11 pupils. Recipients were presented with a gold tie, symbolising their accomplishment and replacing their standard school tie. Mrs Wheeler, who presented the awards, noted that additional gold ties will be awarded following the upcoming mock examinations at the start of the Lent term.

Headteacher Awards

To acknowledge exceptional effort and meaningful contributions to the school community, four students were honoured with the special Headteacher’s Award for the Michaelmas term:

Head of House Awards 

In addition to the Headteacher Awards, this term saw the introduction of Head of House Awards, with one pupils from each of the houses awarded for exceptional contribution to their respective houses.

Congratulations to: Louvaine, Chloe, Jesuthan and Faryaal.

 

Michaelmas Term Inter House Competition

Anticipation was high among staff and pupils alike for the results of the Michaelmas Term Inter House Competition. The points earned this term will accumulate over the next two terms, ultimately determining the recipient of the end-of-year House Trophy Award.

This term, pupils could contribute to their house's overall score by earning points for various achievements, including attendance, academic success, festive attire such as Christmas jumpers, classroom Christmas decorations, and participation in charity collections. However, points could also be deducted for receiving demerits.
