Macmillan Cancer Support Fundraising 2023
Thank you to everyone who supported our pupils’ cake sale for Macmillan Cancer Support on Friday, 20th October. Our school have traditional supported Macmillan Cancer Support in the first half-term as one our whole-school charity campaigns. Macmillan Cancer Support is one of the largest British charities and provides specialist health care, information, and financial support to people affected by cancer. It also looks at the social, emotional, and practical impact cancer can have, and campaigns for better cancer care. Macmillan Cancer Support's goal is to reach and improve the lives of everyone who has cancer in the UK.
During breaktime and lunchtime on the day, pupils organised and ran cake stalls, with both home-made and shop bought cakes and biscuits. There was great excitement seeing which of our houses would raise the most money.
Bernadette House = £103.87
John Bosco House = £119.28
Peter House = £108.81
Theresa House = £101.60
Total raised = £433.56
This is a magnificent effort from all involved. As well as raising funds, pupils also learnt about teamwork and leadership, as well as economics and business. St Mary's pupils have shown, once again, that they respond superbly to the call of SERVICE, one of our school's three core values, to those in need.
