St Mary's Catholic High School

Lent Charity 2025 - The Catholic Children's Society

Pupils across the school have raised £274.84 for The Catholic Children’s Society as part of their Lenten commitments to prayer, abstinence, and almsgiving. Through a variety of activities – including raffles, quizzes, and cake sales – pupils in each House have found creative and meaningful ways to support this important charity.

The Catholic Children’s Society supports disadvantaged children and families across London, Hertfordshire, and the South East. They work with individuals of all faiths and none, with the sole aim of helping those in greatest need. Each year, the Society provides practical support to hundreds of families facing crisis situations. Their Crisis Fund offers immediate emergency assistance, ensuring that families receive the help they need when they have nowhere else to turn. This vital work is only made possible through the generosity of supporters like our school community.

At St Mary’s, like many Catholic schools, we have at times called on the Catholic Children’s Society for support with some of our own families during moments of serious need. They have been an invaluable source of help, particularly in supporting children’s physical and mental health.
