St Mary's Catholic High School

Former Head Girl, Breea, returns to inspire Year 10 students

Former Head Girl Breea was a welcome guest speaker today for our Year 10 Business Studies groups. She was able to speak to the students about her time since leaving St Mary’s, including starting her own successful cake business Brees Bakes’ from scratch. She outlined how she started her business from the initial idea; market research; finance; marketing; and production. Breea answered a full range of questions about her business, including the challenges she has faced.

Not only was Breea able to describe her business, she generously brought samples of her delicious cupcakes for the students to taste. It is no wonder that her business is attracting new clients each week.

Before departing Breea had a chance to meet with our newly elected Head Girl, Shauna, and Head Boy, Markuss. Breea is currently at Bishop Thomas Grant Sixth Form, and is applying to Cambridge University to study Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE). We are very proud of Breea and wish her every success in her future career.

Miss Delaney, Assistant Headteacher and Subject Leader of Business Studies, keeps in touch with many of our past students, making use of their expertise with our students. Understanding the experiences of those involved in a range of businesses at both and national level is a key element of the GCSE Business Studies course.
